Why Private Guided Safaris?
THE UP SIDE
- You will be guided by one of Africa's most highly qualified guides whose primary concern is the genuine safety, care and comfort of you and your family.
- The presence of a Private Guide throughout the duration of your safari eliminates repetition of information, varying quality of service and gives you unmatched flexibility and the ability to make spontaneous decisions that are not always possible without one.
- As we do not work for any particular lodge or camp and thus do not have to 'fill the beds' in a specific area we are able to put together unbiased safaris that choose the best locations during the best time of year depending on a group's needs and interests.
- We are there to literally hold your hand throughout the duration of your safari from when you arrive in Africa to when we wave good bye to you in the airport departure lounge.
- Any communication you have will be directly with us ensuring vital information is not lost or altered by going through a third party.
- Living and working in the wilds of Africa is not only our job and business but our way of life.
- The presence of a private guide often allows one to do activities not normally offered by most camps/lodges as we will have spent many months communicating with you to plan your safari.
- If you enjoy your safari and want to return to Africa with us we can personally take you to any one of twelve different African countries.
- In the event of any problem that may arise, we are able to make immediate decisions to rectify the problem or make alternative arrangements.
- No matter how well any international travel agent may claim to intimately know each of the properties they sell, they are still a continent away and cannot keep up to date with SMALL changes that can make a very BIG difference to your safari.
- Travel agents rely heavily on local ground handlers to co-ordinate their safaris and so they are still only as good as their local partners.
- Travel agents are simply just that; whilst they may have some idea of the facilities and amenities of the lodges and camps they sell, when it comes to knowing one’s product no agent can compete with a guide who spends between ten and twelve months living and working in a safari environment.
THE DOWN SIDE
- Owing to the highly personal nature of our safaris we are only able to conduct a limited number of safaris per year.
- We do not hold personal liability insurance which is normally held by the individual properties that we use, however if you book your safari with us through an international agent then you should be covered by their bonding and insurances.
- We ideally prefer to limit the numbers of guests on our safaris to single digits, ensuring the highest levels of personal service.
